Tournament preview
As 32 players step up for their chance of silverware, the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts features a host of the sport's biggest names, with this year's edition the last of the current format - before the tournament expands to 48 players in 2026.
The players are split into eight groups of four to kick-off the tournament, with a round-robin format seeing each person play three matches. The top two from every group progress to the round of 16, before a classic knockout format follows - with two players eventually battling it out in the final on Sunday, 16 November.
Luke Littler comes in as the reigning champion after last year's 16-3 victory over Martin Lukeman, proving he can do it in the long formats as well as the short - with the latter stages of the Grand Slam of Darts seeing players compete in a gruelling 'best of 31 legs' contest.
The favourites
Speaking of Littler, the reigning champ is also the favourite to retain his title, pipping world number one Luke Humphries and Welshman Gerwyn Price to lead the bookies' odds. The 18-year-old - who also finds himself among the favourites to win the 2025 Sports Personality of the Year Award - has enjoyed a fruitful year so far, with the World Championship, World Matchplay, and World Grand Prix already under his belt.
Humphries, Price, and Josh Rock are the only other players with odds of 10/1 or shorter, with Danny Noppert and Michael Smith other notable names among the front-runners. The Eric Bristow trophy has been won by an Englishman in each of the last three years, and Ladbrokes thinks there's a good chance that could happen again - with Littler the favourite.

Our predictions
To wrap up our 2025 Grand Slam of Darts tournament preview, we're sticking our neck out and making a couple of predictions - starting with a shock early elimination.
With the round-robin groups offering a slightly different format to most events, Ladbrokes is expecting a few shocks - and we're making the bold prediction that one of the previous winners will fail to progress from the groups. Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price, and Michael van Gerwen are the five previous champions, so we're expecting one of them to massively underperform - but who will it be?
Our second Grand Slam of Darts prediction was regarding the standard of play itself - and it has already come true! Across 63 matches featuring the world's very best, we predicted that someone would hit a famous nine-darter in Wolverhampton this year - a feat that has only been achieved on six occasions at previous Grand Slams. Ryan Searle's in 2023 was the most recent, but Luke Humphries' spectacular leg to beat Michael Smith in Group A ensured we did indeed get our Grand Slam nine-darter - proving our prediction spot-on in the process.
