Race day rewards

Newbury 12.15 - Nice One Eric

Nice One Eric is a nice horse. We thought he would win a bumper first time and he just didn’t have the change of foot at the end, staying on to finish fourth. His schooling has been very good. Hopefully he can run really well and finish in the pack. He will probably have to improve off his bumper win to go and win this.

Newbury 12.45 - Mambonumberfive

I really like this horse. He won nicely at Aintree first time over fences. I was getting a bit revved about him beforehand with the way he was schooling and galloping. He produced the goods at Aintree and has come out of that race really well. He probably did his best bit at the end that day.  Newbury is a nice big flat galloping track again. He wouldn’t mind a little bit more rain, but he does act on the good-to-soft ground as well. He is probably my best chance of the day, and I am looking forward to riding him again.

Odds boost

Newbury 1.50 - No Questions Asked

I was very impressed with him around Ascot. His jumping was phenomenal. He is very quick and slick. He can be a bit keen but hopefully he can just settle nicely and then show what he did at Ascot, where he showed plenty of turn of speed and foot. I think he still has a little bit up his sleeve and he is a nice horse going forward.

Newbury 3.35 - Samuel Spade

He is a bit of an old legend. He has been around the block, and he knows what to do. He had a little blow out at Newbury at the last meeting. The cobwebs have been dusted off, and he will come on leaps and bounds for that. I hope he can go to Newbury in the same kind of form as he did at Ascot last year where he won in a big field. If he’s in that form, which he is showing at home, then he should outrun his odds.
