SANDOWN - SATURDAY

1.50 - Sandown - Four Springs

Four Springs is my first of four rides on a big day at Sandown on Saturday, in the EBF Final. The first time I sat on him was at Warwick, the last day, and he gave me a really nice feel. He still feels a bit babyish and green, but he's a horse that's improving all the time and he's come on since that day. He's got a set of cheekpieces on, which I think he'll benefit from. It's obviously a competitive race so he'll have to improve a little bit. He's certainly entitled to have a chance here, though. Ben [Pauling] has got a very good record in the race, so hopefully we can go there and be competitive.

2.27 - Sandown - Ooh Betty

My second of the day is a little mare called Ooh Betty, and she won the mares' listed race at Ascot last time out. She's a brilliant little mare, and she's always been competitive for me; always runs her little heart out. It's a big field and a big race, she'll need a few things to go her way, but if she turns up with that Ascot form, then hopefully she'll be bang there.

3.00 - Sandown - The Flaggy Shore

I've then got The Flaggy Shore for Ben Clarke in the bumper - I haven't had anything to do with her as of yet, but I really like everything I've seen from her. She's got strong form behind her and she pulled a long way clear in a listed race the last day. I think she can improve on that result too. She's a lovely looking mare and, like I say, I'd like to think that strong form is going to help her out here.

3.35 - Sandown - Sound And Fury

Sound And Fury is my last ride of the day, for Ben Pauling. I've ridden him twice and won on him on both occasions up at Carlisle, so he clearly likes the track up there. This is a different test for him though. He's a lovely horse who doesn't show you everything, but he always does enough, which is helping him in the handicap mark. If he can get into a good rhythm and jump as well as he did the time before, then hopefully he'll be there or thereabout. He'll definitely stay, coming up the hill for the final time though.

So I've got four rides, four nice chances and I'm very much looking forward to getting going. My best chance is probably going to be The Flaggy Shore, for Ben Clarke.
