Ben Jones Sunday rides schedule

2.25 - Windsor - Doughmore Bay

Doughmore Bay is my first of four rides at Windsor in a handicap hurdle for Emma Lavelle. He's a lovely big type who they tried over fences the last day - it didn't quite work, so he's back over hurdles here. He's put a couple of solid runs together, and while it looks like a very competitive field, if he can get his confidence back and jump and run like he did last year, hopefully he'll be a nice each-way price.

3.00 - Windsor - Handstands

Next up it's Handstands in the Fleur de Lys Chase, and this is obviously a horse I like a lot. He won two Grade 2s and a Grade 1 last year, doing nothing wrong there. He's had a wind op since his last run, where he did OK, he just never really galloped to the line like he normally does. His work at home seems to be A1; I schooled him on Thursday and he schooled really well.

Look, we've got to give weight away to Protektorat, who is going for the two-timer, but we would like to think that we've got a really good chance here. We'll certainly be there three out, and we'll see who wins it from there. I do think we've got a decent chance though.

3.35 - Windsor - Neo King

Neo King is my third ride of the day, for Evan Williams in the three-and-a-half-mile chase, and he's one I don't know a whole lot about, in truth. He's got first-time cheekpieces which should sharpen him up. He ran four miles round Kelso the last day, so Ev obviously thinks that he stays well. Windsor is a funny track, but if he takes to it well, and gets himself in a good rhythm, hopefully he'll be a good each-way price.

4.05 - Windsor - Old Clayesmorian

And then we finish with the very valuable bumper, with Old Clayesmorian. To be fair to him, we didn't do a whole lot with him before his first run at Warwick, and he won really nicely there. Obviously this is a step up, where a lot of the others are in the same kind of boat. But he's a nice, big, strong type, well bred, and hopefully he'll have a good chance for us as well.

New Ladbrokes Offer

Overall it's a really nice book of rides I've got, and I'm very much looking forward to going back to Windsor.
