Match to end in a draw

Brighton ended a run of six Premier League games without a win when they defeated in-form Brentford 2-0, an impressive away victory that eased the pressure on Fabian Hurzeler. The 33-year-old German manager has struggled to settle on his best eleven this season, although he hasn't been helped by a litany of injuries. The Seagulls have won just one of their last seven home league games, against 19th-placed Burnley.

Nottingham Forest's season has been one of turmoil and they currently sit 17th, embroiled in a relegation dogfight and two points clear of the drop zone. Nuno Espirito Santo and Sean Dyche have both seen the axe this season, and Vitor Pereira has been tasked with keeping them up. They survived a Fenerbahce second-leg comeback to advance to the last 16 of the Europa League, after impressively winning 3-0 away from home in Pereira's first game in charge. That was followed by a last-gasp defeat to Liverpool last weekend, and every point is vital for them at this stage of the season.

Neither side is in the best of form, reflected by their respective league positions. The two teams have drawn at the Amex in each of the last two seasons, and we're predicting that they'll cancel each other out again, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Morgan Gibbs-White to have 2+ shots

Despite Forest's struggles this season, there is no doubting the quality of their captain and talisman Morgan Gibbs-White. He's been in and out of the England squad and may need to progress from Forest eventually, but delivered a reminder of his talent with a goal and an assist in the away win at Fenerbahce.

Gibbs-White's creative numbers have dipped in 2025/26, with just two assists after reaching double digits in each of the last three seasons, but he has scored six league goals, which is one off his best tally of seven. MGW has had at least two shots in four of his last five games, and is averaging 2.23 shots per game this season. We're adding that selection to our Brighton vs Forest bet builder, with Gibbs-White having two or more shots in 74% of his matches.

Danny Welbeck to have 1+ shots on target

Veteran striker Danny Welbeck continues to deliver for Brighton, with his goal in their win at Brentford his ninth league goal of the season, just one below his career best tally of ten, which came last season. He also scored the winner at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. The 35-year-old has had at least one shot on target in four of his last five games, so we're tipping Welbeck to test the keeper at least once again on Sunday.

Mats Wieffer to be shown a card

Hurzeler's side have suffered a number of injuries to key players this season, one of which was Mats Wieffer, who was recently sidelined for nearly two months with a toe injury. He returned at right-back in the win at Brentford and made an instant impact, with the midfielder's ability to drift inside from the flank on full display. Wieffer did pick up a booking however, which took his tally for the season to five in just fourteen starts. We think he could start at right-back again as Hurzeler looks to replicate a winning formula, and against a Forest side who have plenty of pace on the break, we could see Wieffer picking up a card in consecutive games.
