Market Rasen

Yummy and Typhoon Warrior – 12.53 Market Rasen

We run two in a novice hurdle here. Yummy can hopefully progress as he gets a little older and over fences in time but this looks a deep race given his form so far. He's only just turned five and needs to strengthen up.

We also run a debutant over hurdles called Typhoon Warrior. He is a nice horse who ran well in some bumpers. Again, I wouldn’t necessarily say he has shown enough in a bumper to just win a weight-for-age race. I think they are both nice horses for long term and they will get better with time.

Katios Queen and Jollie Dame – 2.40 Market Rasen

We run two nice mares in this race. Katios Queen has some black type already at Huntingdon. She runs again in a black type race here and has done well at home since Huntingdon. Her form in that race is quite nice and I would have to give her a big chance. She probably needs to step forward again and of course there is no reason to think why she can’t keep improving. I am happy with her.

We also run a nice filly called Jollie Dame. She ran well first time up in a bumper. I wouldn’t say she exceeded our expectations there, but she had worked really nicely, and she stayed on well at the track and that stamina will hopefully bring her into play here. She has good pedigree and hopefully we can get a bit of black type too.

Get Up Mush – 3.45 Market Rasen

Get Up Mush goes in a stayers chase and he ran well first time back after a long layoff over Christmas. You would always be frightened of a horse bouncing on that second run after a layoff, but he has been in good form at home and looks really well. I think we will have a productive time with him but whether he can just go straight in is another question…you’re always a little bit wary second time up after a layoff.

Best odds guaranteed

Windsor

Moneygarrow – 12.40 Windsor

Moneygarrow won last time out and Harry [Skelton] rides him again here. The trip of three miles will be no problem at all; in fact I think it will be a bonus. It is quite competitive as you’d expect but I would have to give him a big chance here. He is in real good shape and we are very happy.

Be Aware – 1.50 Windsor

Be Aware runs in a Grade 2 novices’ chase. Soft ground won’t be a negative and he probably leads on figures here. I hope it proves that way. He can be a little inconsistent in his behaviour before races but the more he races the more he is getting out of that. He is a good jumper and hopefully he proves to be the one to beat. Fingers crossed he can go and get a Grade 2.

Take No Chances and Royal Infantry – 3.00 Windsor

Take No Chances gets 7lbs for being a mare and carries forward some very good form. I would like to think she will be a massive player here. I have a lot of respect for the others in this race as it is competitive. Our horse is very consistent, tough, and tries very hard. We have trained her for this time of year as well. We thought we would have one run before Cheltenham, and this looks the best race for her. We are very happy and think she will go very close.

Royal Infantry is having a very stop-start year. He ran really well first time up over hurdles and it hasn’t been a smooth road since then. He ran well back over hurdles without winning and then faded over fences at the run in which was disappointing to see. It just doesn’t feel like we’ve had that smooth run with him but he is a high-quality horse. I know things will come together for him. He has a lot to prove but he will prove it as the spring goes on. I would like to see a solid run here but on numbers it looks like it will be difficult enough to beat a couple here. If he can run his best race and stay on through the line, I would be delighted and we can then build up from there.

Odds boost

Live Conti, Listentoyourheart, Great Fleet, and Knickerbockerglory – 3.35 Windsor

We have four runners here, starting with Harry’s ride…Live Conti. He is quite keen and needs to settle a little better. We have a hood and tongue strap to help and if he settles, he will be a threat, but we haven’t seen that yet and we need to see it at the track.

Listentoyourheart ran on New Year’s Day over two-and-a-half miles and we drop back to two here. I don’t think that will be a problem. We don’t want the ground going too heavy, and there is a lot of rain forecast. She gets 7lbs off and that really brings her into it.

We also run Great Fleet who bolted up at Kelso last time. We’ve had a race like this in mind for some time and he is a horse who can be very progressive. I would like to see him go and run well here and I don’t have any negatives for him at all. I am excited to see how he goes.

We have declared Knickerbockerglory too. He loves heavy ground and if they get as much rain as possible, then he would come into play. He gets 7lbs off as well. He may not be getting any younger, but we are very happy with his training and consistency. He ran very well the last day and always puts his best foot forward. I would like to hope he would go well if they get that amount of rain.

Storminhome – 4.05 Windsor

He didn’t put up much of a run the last day but that was over two miles and I shouldn’t have run him over that trip. I just thought a two-mile galloping track like Chepstow would be fine but he just never got into the race at all. This trip will be much more like it. It is his second run after a long layoff and whether he can go and win having had problems after that long layoff is a little bit of a strong assumption. He should run a lot better though.
