Kempton

Gambino – 12.20 Kempton

Gambino is new to us and has some nice form on the flat. He’s without experience over hurdles so it’ll be hard to just win on debut. We would expect him to run nicely without saying he’s got to win this to have a future. The lack of experience will be hard to overcome but we like what we’ve seen at home so far.

Precious Man – 1.30 Kempton

A very nice horse who carries a penalty because he won in France... he was second at Cheltenham on his debut for us, again, giving weight away. He has lots of speed, the track will suit him and he can give away that penalty we feel.

Boombawn – 2.40 Kempton

Boombawn runs in a tough race. There are only four runners, but they are all good horses. We were a bit underwhelming the last time out, but things have become hard for him because he’s climbed up the handicap. He has just done so well for us and the handicapper has got him quite high. We are trying this conditions race…it is a smaller field, and he has won around the track before. We are looking forward to getting out there and competing with him because he loves that. It remains to be seen if he can win a conditions race though.

A Pai De Nom – 3.17 Kempton

I have had this race in mind for him for a good while now. He won at Cheltenham in a conditional jockeys’ race in November and then he went to Leicester and won a novice hurdle. This race has been the plan and we have no negatives going into it. We have been happy with his training and he will run well. It is very competitive, but we don’t have any excuses. He is my best chance on the day.

Quaviste – 3.53 Kempton

Quaviste is probably turning out quite quickly but a two-mile flat track looks like his cup of tea. I was much happier with his run after he’d fallen. The handicap mark doesn’t look beyond him but obviously he doesn’t have as much experience as some. I would like to see a solid run here. He should go and run very well.

Warwick

Jack Black – 1.15 Warwick

He was disappointing the last day at Bangor. We thought he would run a lot better than that so we have gone up in trip a little. We thought he was a two-miler on soft ground but maybe that’s not the case. He has not shown at the track what he has shown us at home. He needs to go and show it at the track.

Doyen Quest – 1.52 Warwick

He was good the last day and I think the track will suit him. He has won there before over hurdles. He carries a bit of a penalty, but he’s probably earned that. He has lots of experience and I think he will go close. It’s a deep race I think.

Joyeux Machin - 2.55 Warwick

The race has cut up a little with the top weight keeping a few out of the handicap. He has run very consistently and well for us in all of his runs really. We haven’t actually won with him but he’s getting close and I think the extended trip will suit him. Young Harry [Atkins] gets on well with him and has 7lbs off. The cheekpieces are on and I hope he goes and runs a big race. He’s an impossible horse to say he will just go and win though.

Tranquil Sea – 3.32 Warwick

He has been consistent and the handicapper probably has just got hold of him strong enough. I think this trip will really suit him and he’s in there with a right chance without any help from the handicapper from what I can see.

Diamond Street – 4.02 Warwick

Diamond Street runs in the bumper and he is a nice horse who we have done loads of work with. We haven’t rushed him. We like what we see at home, and he needs to show it at the track now. He has had loads of prep and he has no excuses. He should run really well.
