Dan Skelton Saturday runners blog: 'The trip is what he has been waiting for, so we have no excuses here'

Leading trainer Dan Skelton has six runners on Saturday, March 28, 2026 across meetings at Stratford and Uttoxeter. The Ladbrokes ambassador previews them all in his latest blog.

Stratford

Burning Embers – 1:40 Stratford

Burning Embers runs in a mares’ novice hurdle. She didn’t run all that well first time out over hurdles, jumping out to her left. We are going left-handed here so she will be more suited to it. We just need to get her feet under her right now but she hasn’t shown enough to say she can win this.

Disco Davis – 2:15 Stratford

Disco Davis runs in a Selling Hurdle which is quite competitive because the handicap marks of all the horses are pretty reasonable. He hasn’t been running well recently, it must be said. This is a drop in grade in terms of race, but there are some decent horses in here so we will see how we go.

Beorma – 3:17 Stratford

Beorma runs in a handicap hurdle. She pulled up last time which was a bit disappointing. She had been off for a long time, and I feel like she can be sharper. We should see more from her this time.

Uttoxeter

Notnowlinda – 2:35 Uttoxeter

It feels like she is coming back to a bit of form. This is a mares’ race so that suits her a bit. She hasn’t set the world alight recently but hopefully she will come into a bit of form with some sun on her back this spring.

Jasmin De Cotte – 3:45 Uttoxeter

Jasmin De Cotte was a fortuitous winner last time but three miles does feel like a better trip for him. Hopefully he can go OK but bear in mind he was a lucky winner last time.

Sunray Shadow – 4:20 Uttoxeter

Sunray Shadow steps up to three miles and I think that really suits him. This trip is definitely what he has been waiting for along with a bit of nice ground, so we have no excuses here.
