Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup odds: Northern Ticker clear favourite

Northern Ticker is the current favourite to win this year's Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup, according to the latest odds released by the title sponsors.

With Scotland's biggest and most valuable flat race getting underway tomorrow, the bookies make Northern Ticker, winner of the Constantine Handicap at York in August - just 6/1 to win/

The Michael Dods-trained horse is the favourite, but elsewhere Ain't Nobody has drifted to 9/1, while Two Tribes (also 9/1) is currently the only other name priced shorter than 12/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: Northern Ticker impressed at York last time out and very much looks like the one to beat at Ayr this weekend, if the latest odds are anything to go by.

The favourite, Northern Ticker, will also head this weekend's Ayr Gold Cup as the most popular pick with punters.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: Recent history suggests favourites have their work cut out in Scotland's most valuable flat race, but punters have flocked to back Northern Ticker up to this point.

In other Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup news, former Aston Villa players Stiliyan Petrov and Alan Hutton reunited on September 18 as they conducted the draw on the morning of the final declarations.
