Argentina vs Austria (Monday, 22 June, 2026 - 18:00 BST)
France vs Iraq (Monday, 22 June, 2026 - 22:00 BST)
Norway vs Senegal (Tuesday, 23 June, 2026 - 01:00 BST)
Jordan vs Algeria (Tuesday, 23 June, 2026 - 04:00 BST)
The first pick of our day 12 accumulator is for Messi to continue his stunning start to the tournament, with the Argentina captain backed to score against Austria.
The best player of all time, and arguably still one of the best players in the world, Messi kicked off the World Cup in sensational fashion, scoring all three goals in Argentina's 3-0 win over Algeria. It was the perfect start for the defending champions, and we're tipping their star man to make another major impact in game two.
Austria should be a better and more organised defensive team than Algeria, with Ralf Rangnick's side getting off to a strong start of their own by beating Jordan 3-1, but Messi simply has too much quality to ignore here.
The Inter Miami man has scored in seven of his last eight matches, with the only game he failed to score in during that run still seeing him register two assists. Against Algeria, he had six shots, four of which went on target, and when Argentina's midfield win the ball, their first thought is usually to get it to Messi.
Boring, we know, but Kylian Mbappe scoring for France is our second pick of the day 12 acca.
France looked poor in the first half of their opening game against Senegal on Tuesday evening, but they really clicked into gear after half-time, eventually running out 3-1 winners. Mbappe was the star of the show, scoring twice and reminding everyone why he remains one of the leading contenders for the Golden Boot.
The France captain was ruthless throughout World Cup qualifying too, scoring over a goal a game on average, and this looks like another strong match-up for him. Iraq conceded four against Norway in their opener, and if France move the ball with the same purpose and intensity they showed after the break against Senegal, they should have far too much attacking quality.
Mbappe, who scored 42 goals from 44 club matches across the domestic and European season, is the obvious man to lead that charge. With his movement in behind, his ability to attack space and his finishing on the biggest stage, we're tipping him to score again.
Another of the big boys scored in his opener, with Erling Haaland netting twice as Norway beat Iraq 4-1, and we're backing the Man City striker to make it two World Cup games in a row with at least one goal.
Haaland was clinical in Norway's opening victory, scoring twice from five shots, four of which were on target. That is exactly what we've come to expect from the Norwegian, who rarely needs many sights of goal to punish an opposition defence.
He will have a tougher job on Tuesday morning when Norway face Senegal, but France's 3-1 win over the African side showed that they can be got at when defending. Senegal caused problems in spells, but they also left gaps, and Norway have the kind of attacking weapons to take advantage.
Haaland's international record is remarkable too. He scored a staggering 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifying matches. While his goals-per-game ratio drops to around 0.8 in the Premier League, that is hardly anything to be scoffed at.
So we're backing Haaland to score again, in what will be only his second-ever World Cup match.
The fourth and final pick of our day 12 World Cup accumulator is for Amine Gouiri to score for Algeria against Jordan.
Algeria will see this game as a huge opportunity to get their campaign back on track after losing to Argentina in their opener. They were well beaten by the defending champions, but this is a much more winnable game on paper, and if they are to get anything from it, Gouiri could be key.
The former Nice and current Marseille attacker is one of the bright sparks in this Algeria side, and he came into the tournament in good form. Gouiri scored twice against Bolivia in Algeria's final World Cup warm-up match, adding to the 11 goals he scored in 28 matches for Marseille this season.
He has also delivered consistently for his country, scoring seven times in 20 Algeria appearances since the start of 2024. Just as importantly for an anytime scorer pick, he attracts the ball in dangerous areas, averaging 0.8 shots on target from 1.7 shots in Ligue 1 this season.
With Algeria needing a response, and with Gouiri likely to be one of their main routes to goal, we're tipping him to score against Jordan.
So an Amine Gouiri goal is our final pick, bringing a close to our anytime scorer acca for day 12 of the World Cup.
