Ladbrokes' Festive Countdown Day 13: Salah shots galore

Mohamed Salah is back for Liverpool this weekend, and Ladbrokes tips him to have at least two shots on target in his return match at Anfield against Brighton as part of day 13 of the Festive Countdown.

Salah, the current PFA Player of the Year, has struggled for Liverpool this season. Prior to his dispute with manager Arne Slot, Salah had been on the bench for three consecutive Premier League games, failing to come off the bench against West Ham and Leeds.

However, the winger is said to have held 'positive talks' with Arne Slot this week, so much so that he's back in the Liverpool squad for the match at Anfield against Brighton today.

Salah is going to be incredibly fired up for the match, especially with the Egyptian winger heading off to AFCON next week, and with speculation over his long-term future at Liverpool still somewhat uncertain.

The ironic thing about the Salah-Slot saga is that, due to injuries, the Dutch manager is likely to need his star winger for the match against Brighton this weekend.

Alexander Isak is a minor doubt for the game after sustaining a 'knock' against Inter Milan, whilst Cody Gakpo is set to be out for a number of weeks with a muscular problem.

And with Federico Chiesa still not having started a Premier League match this season for Liverpool, Salah could well end up starting the match tomorrow alongside Hugo Ekitike.

Salah is averaging 0.8 shots on target per match in the Premier League so far this season, so he'd have to more than double his average for this bet to come in today.

However, Salah has likely never been as motivated to score for Liverpool as he will be today, given what's happened over the last seven days. So, don't be surprised to see the Egyptian testing the Brighton defence and goalkeeper with shots and dribbles all game.
