Rory McIlroy receives Sports Personality boost following Ryder Cup 2025

The golf superstar has been clipped from 7/4 to 13/8 to win the 2025 Sports Personality of The Year after he put up 3.5 points to help Europe become the first away team to win the Ryder Cup since 2012. McIlroy is one of only two contenders priced shorter than 10/1. Fellow Team Europe hero Tommy Fleetwood tumbled to 33/1 from 100/1 after contributing 4 points at Bethpage Black.

Chloe Kelly is the 5/6 favourite for the prize thanks to her integral role in England’s European Championship triumph.

Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said:

After completing his career Grand Slam and being at the heart of Europe’s historic Ryder Cup win, it’s arguably been the best year of Rory McIroy’s career. He could well add Sports Personality of the Year to that honour roll if the latest odds cut is any indication.
