Transfer news: Odds slashed on Man United moving in on City’s Sanchez dream

Manchester United could be set to strike a deal for Alexis Sanchez ahead of their local rivals City, according to our latest odds.

Our traders have slashed odds on the Chilean swapping the Emirates for Old Trafford next summer to just 9/2, having been as long as 10/1 earlier in the week.

Manchester City looked dead certs to land Sanchez last month but failed to agree a fee with the Gunners for the forward.

And since then, Pep Guardiola’s side have drifted from 2/1 to 4/1 in the race for his signature.

The two Manchester clubs are some way ahead of the likes of Chelsea (10/1), Real Madrid (16/1) and Paris Saint-Germain (20/1), meaning the former Barcelona man will likely be the subject of a north-west tug of war.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “A move away from the Emirates looks likely for Sanchez next summer but United now look set to do battle with their city rivals for the Chilean – and we’d hardly be shocked to see the Red Devils priced even shorter in the coming months.”
