Rami Malek most popular pick for Best Actor Oscar; 5/1 in the market

He may not be top of the betting, but punters are piling in on Best Actor glory for Rami Malek at next year’s Oscars.

The Bohemian Rhapsody star has been the subject of a whopping 75% of all bets in the market, since the film’s release. And the bookies could face quite a payout if he wins, with Malek 5/1 third-favourite as it stands.

At the head of the betting is Bradley Cooper at 10/11, while 2013 nominee Christian Bale is next up at 4/1.

After Malek, there’s a trio of Viggo Mortensen (6/1), Ryan Gosling (8/1) and Willem Dafoe (10/1).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bradley Cooper is Under Pressure in the battle for Best Actor with Remi Malek proving a popular pick with punters.”
