Sean Levey - July 19 rides schedule
Rashabar - Newmarket - 13:50 race odds
Raakeb - Newmarket - 15:30 race odds
Star Style - Newmarket - 17:20 race odds
1.50 - BetVictor Steventon Stakes - Rashabar
Rashabar is a very good horse who just recently competed at Ascot in the St James's Palace - he's been found wating in that sort of company, but his breeding does suggest that he can step up in trip. And if that's the case, he should find himself at an advantage against these types of horses. Hopefully there's not going to be a problem with him staying the trip, and if that is the case, then I'd say he's going to be extremely competitive here.
Of the three I'm riding at Newbury, I'd say this is the one I'm looking forward to getting on most, and is probably my best chance of the day.
3.30 - Weatherby's Super Sprint Stakes - Raakeb
Raakeb was a bit disappointing, he rode cold off a sedate pace in the Superlative at Newmarket last week. He ran on really well to finish fifth there. Obviously, this Super Sprint is really competitive, with Eve [Johnson Houghton]'s horse in there, Havana Hurricane, who won the Windsor Castle last month. We've obviously ran against him before and were beat - but ours is hopefully an improving horse. We're hoping for more improvement here, and if that's the case, I'd say he'd at least be competitive.
There's 20 runners here so it's a huge field, but by the time the Super Sprint is run, we already kind of have an idea about the majority of the field. And, with that said, this one is normally just won by a horse that's already been proven to be a lot better than the rest of the field. And we have that here, in Eve's horse, which won really well in the Windsor Castle.
5.20 - British Stallion Studs EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap - Star Style
Star Style ran over six furlongs last time at Newbury, and we just wanted to try that trip out. She was obviously outpaced over six furlongs, so Julie [Wood] has decided to step her back up to seven, and hopefully that will help her put her best foot forward.
