1.55 - Musselburgh - Al Arbeed

We start Saturday up at Musselburgh with Al Arbeed in the Silver Arrow Handicap. This is a horse we really like, and he's actually a brother of Aramram's, who obviously won a listed race at Doncaster last time out. So we've always thought a lot of this one, but he's just been taken a bit of time to come around. Joe [Leavy] thinks he'll have come on for his last ride at Kempton and he'll definitely be suited to seven furlongs. The track should definitely suit him as well, so I'd like to think we've got a good chance here.

3.05 - Musselburgh - Almuhit

I've then got Almuhit for Faye Bramley in the Queen's Cup Handicap, and I think he's a very solid contender here. He won a lovely handicap last year at Newbury, and I also won on him the time before that. He tries really hard, likes to be competitive and be at the front end, and these are all attributes you need at Musselburgh. It's a good frontrunners' track, and if you can secure a good position up there on a horse that enjoys being up there, then you're in a very good position.

I know Dan Skelton has one in here, and what I would say is that the Skeltons know exactly what is best for their horses. I rode one for them last time out at Kempton [Salkadan] over a mile-and-a-half, who was very competitive and just got beat by a nose there, so they know exactly what they're doing. They'll go close here, I'd say, because it's an open enough race.

Odds boost

4.12 - Musselburgh - The Kalonji Man

The Kalonji Man is a horse that's been very raw and one who we thought would come on for the experience of running at a track, hence why he ran in the Brocklesby - he came out of that really nicely. OK, we're not sure whether the penny will drop with him this time out, but he's definitely one I'd be keeping an eye on. He still feels like he'll need to gain more experience before we see the best of him.

4.45 - Musselburgh - Wheels Of Fire

I finish the day with Wheels Of Fire, and he's looked better for being gelded at the end of last year. He ran a little bit fresh at Newcastle last time out, over six furlongs, on a stiff track where he probably did a little bit too much at the front end, hence why we've dropped back down to five furlongs. He should be better for that run at Newcastle though.
