Fandom – 2.10 Haydock

Fandom has been a model of consistency this year, running well in several major races before finishing last on his most recent start. That was his first run on heavy ground, which may explain the performance, although it is difficult to say for certain. He does have form on soft ground, which he should get here, and hopefully he can bounce back.

Hotterthanjuly – 2.40 Haydock

Hotterthanjuly is a fine, big filly who is ready to make her debut. She has taken a long time to come to hand and will probably want a mile-and-a-quarter to a mile-and-a-half next year, so this is a starting point to see where she is.

Zain Primus – 3.15 Haydock

Zain Primus is from John Butler’s yard, which is in excellent form and has been firing in plenty of winners. This horse has already won twice this year, albeit on the all-weather. His turf run at York last time was disappointing, but you would hope he can be competitive on the day.

Camarda Rc – 4.00 Haydock

He won nicely at Epsom first time out and was a horse we liked a lot going into that race. He was helped by the rain arriving on the day, which left the ground on the easier side. We think we have him back in a good spot and the ground should definitely suit.

Soul Limbo – 5.10 Haydock

Soul Limbo is a big horse trained by Harry Fry. The last time I saw him on the flat was at Bath, where he won. He took a long time to come to hand, but he showed he is relentless and stays very well. This big, galloping track should suit him. He has been off the track for a while, so hopefully he is fit and ready to go.
