The Six Nations 2026 continues on Saturday and Sunday after a thrilling opening weekend which saw France and England cement their potential Grand Slam credentials.

After dominating Ireland in the tournament opener, France will continue the defence of their title against an out-of-sorts Wales, with England, who thrashed the Welsh in their opener, come up against Scotland in the Calcutta Cup. Ireland, meanwhile, host Italy as they look to get their Six Nations campaign up and running.

Ireland are a wounded animal ahead of hosting Italy after being put to the sword by France in Paris last Thursday in a 36-14 defeat.

Andy Farrell's men were taken apart by the holders, particularly in the first 50 minutes when the score was 29-0, and the lacklustre performance has left many to suggest Ireland, ranked No1 in the world as recently as 2024, might need a rebuild in order to compete at the top again.

Saturday's game against Italy should see them get their first victory of the campaign but it will be far from straightforward after the Azzurri opened with a win over Scotland last weekend. An Irish victory is on the cards and think a -16 handicap offers good value.

England are undoubtedly France's main challengers for the Six Nations title after roaring into action with a 48-7 win over Wales on the opening weekend.

While Wales have slipped well below their previous standards, England look like they are continuing to build something under Steve Borthwick and will fancy themselves to get the better of a Scotland side who suffered a surprise defeat to Italy.

The Scots have actually caused problems for England recently, winning four of the last five meetings, so it's unlikely to be smooth-sailing the visitors at Murrayfield.

It is the Grand Slam favourite versus Wooden Spoon favourites in Cardiff on Sunday with France poised for a huge victory over Wales.

Les Bleus were formidable at times against Ireland and should have far too much for a youthful Wales side which continues to struggle. After shipping a similar total against England, we reckon a France score of more than 45.5 is on the cards.
