Ireland World Cup play-off odds
Republic of Ireland semi-final prediction and qualification market
The Republic of Ireland have a date with destiny on Thursday as they look to go one game away from their first World Cup since 2002 by winning away against Czech Republic in Prague.
Former international Ireland knows they still have a lot to do but says making this summer's tournament would be a momentous achievement.
He said: "It's going to be tough. To get to this point has been amazing. I don't think anyone would have seen that, but the momentum just took off for them, and they've done so well and shocked a lot of people."
"So hopefully the morale and momentum is still there now and that kind of bubble hasn't burst. I think a lot of it has just been down to grit and passion and heart.
"And a lot of luck as well. Theyโve got a chance and they must really feel that and understand they're so close to achieving something amazing.
"It won't be easy and they still have a hell of a long way to go. If we make it, the number of fans that will go to the World Cup will be huge.
"We thrive on that support, and anything can happen with that behind you."
Arsenal title odds
Gunners backed in Premier League winner market
Arsenal are being tipped to finally land the Premier League title, having amassed a nine-point lead over Man City at the top of the table. That said, City's win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final has sparked belief they could still catch the Gunners.
Ireland said: "At the start of the season when I was looking at Man Cityโs squad, I thought it's a bit of a weak squad, it's not as strong as it used to be.
"They are still a very talented, good squad but still not as concerning as previous squads.
"I wouldn't have expected City to run away with the league this year, so I'm not surprised that they are where they're at.
"I actually think it would be nice for Arsenal to win it, just to mix it up a little bit. Arsenal deserve to win it, itโs been a long time coming. Cityโs win on Sunday will give them momentum and a glimmer of hope.
"The run-in will be an interesting watch, and there could be some more bumps in the road. We will see."

Manchester Cityโs long-term managerial market is already drawing interest, with Pep Guardiola expected to remain in charge for now. However, Vincent Kompany is being tipped as a popular future option in the next manager betting, with current club Bayern Munich enjoying a sensational season under his management.
"I would be shocked if Pep Guardiola wasn't there next season. What I would love to see happen eventually is someone like Vincent Kompany get the job.
"I think every fan would love that. I think that's been written in stone for a while and I think it would make so much sense."
