Reigning champions Arsenal will be kicking off the new season on Friday, 21 August, welcoming newly promoted Coventry City to the Emirates to mark the return of Premier League action. Meanwhile, Liverpool face a difficult opening-day test, while Man United and Chelsea both start the season away from home.

The 2026/27 Premier League season will be kicked off by champions Arsenal, who host newly promoted Coventry City - managed by Premier League legend Frank Lampard - on Friday, 21 August to begin their title defence.
Saturday then sees Championship play-off winners Hull City take on Champions League side Manchester United at 12:30pm, before Everton face Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town welcome Europa League contenders Sunderland to Portman Road, and Nottingham Forest take on Leeds United. Saturday's matches are then wrapped up at 5:30pm as Brentford host Spurs - who are hoping to finish higher than 17th for the first time in three seasons.
Onto Sunday, and Conference League side Brighton & Hove Albion host Europa League champions Aston Villa, who have won on their last two visits to the AMEX, while Man City begin life after Pep Guardiola with a home match against Bournemouth. Newcastle then host Liverpool at 4:30pm in what is arguably the most eye-catching game of the weekend, before Fulham and Chelsea close out the weekend with a London derby on Monday night.
