Adam Wharton next club odds: Real Madrid in the frame

Adam Wharton could end up at Real Madrid in January, at least if Ladbrokes' latest next club transfer odds are to be believed.

Crystal Palace are set for a major rebuild over the next few months, with Marc Guehi and Oliver Glasner both set to leave the club in the summer, if not before.

With the club's captain and manager both set to depart this year, Palace's board will be in no mood to accept a bid for Wharton... but what if they receive an offer that's simply too good to turn down?

It's both of the Manchester clubs who, if Wharton is to leave in January, are the favourites to secure the midfielder's signature.

However, given that both are priced at 8/1, it seems like the bookies are tipping Wharton to at least see out the remainder of the season with the 2025 FA Cup winners.

Real Madrid are also in the conversation for Wharton. Los Blancos lack a midfielder who possesses the playmaking qualities of Wharton, and many pundits have long tipped the ex-Blackburn man with a move to the Spanish capital.

However, it's clear that the bookies aren't exactly expecting Wharton to move on this month, with a transfer after this summer's World Cup viewed as far more likely.

Man City, Man United and Real Madrid aren't the only clubs in the conversation for Wharton, with Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Barcelona all priced at 25/1 or shorter to secure the player's services this month.

Chelsea and Newcastle are priced at 33/1 and 40/1 respectively to sign Wharton, with the bookies suggesting those both have less than 3% chance of happening.

However, it's worth noting that Palace may be losing another of their key players this month, with Man City just 2/1 to sign Guehi now to fix their growing defensive injury crisis.

Glasner is also one of the names in the running to become Man United's next manager, although movement on that front isn't expected to take place until the summer, when the Austrian manager's contract expires.
