12.05 - Cheltenham - Our Boy Stan
I've got three rides at Cheltenham on Friday, my first being Our Boy Stan for Ben Pauling in the novices' hurdle. He got the job done the last day in Ffos Las - his jumping wasn't as fluid as it can or probably should be, but he still managed to go and win. I think he's going to improve for each run, and this looks like a decent race, so hopefully we'll have a good each-way chance here. He'll have to step up after his last run, but he's more than capable of doing that.
1.50 - Cheltenham - Henry's Friend
Henry's Friend is my second ride of the day in the handicap chase, and he ran a storm of a race on his first time out this season at Ascot... he jumps for fun, travels and stays all day. I wouldn't want too much more rain, but it looks to be drying out a little bit now which is great for him. If he's in anything like the same kind of form he showed at Ascot last month, then hopefully he'll have a very good chance as well. He's a very uncomplicated character so I'm looking forward to getting him out there.
If he's in the same form he was at Ascot, then he'd be my best chance of the day.
2.25 - Cheltenham - Can You Call
I finish Friday with Can You Call for Evan Williams in the veterans' handicap chase, and this is one I don't know a whole lot about, to be completely honest, as he's a new one for me. He's been around and seen and done it all though, and he ran well the last time out at Cheltenham with Brian Hughes on board. He's got bottom weight and seems to like the track... with minimum weight on, I'm hopeful he'll have a nice little each-way chance.
