Ben Jones Saturday rides blog: 'He felt as good as ever'

Ben Jones previews all of his rides at Kempton on December 27, 2025. The Ladbroeks ambassador views Mambonumberfive as his best chance.

1.20 - Kempton - I've Madeupmymind

We're off to Kempton again on Saturday, where I've got three rides, starting with a mare called I've Madeupmymind for Ben Pauling. I think she'll have a good little chance here - she's ran once over three miles where I thought she travelled really nicely into it before coming down two out.

I think if she settles well and gets into a good rhythm, then hopefully she shouldn't be too far away for us.

1.55 - Kempton - Mambonumberfive

Next up is Mambonumberfive in the novices' Grade 2, and we've got a good horse here who has taken to fences really, really well. I worked him earlier in the week and he felt as good as ever, so hopefully he's he takes to this race really nicely and keeps moving forward. I'm hopeful he won't be too far away here though. 

3.37 - Kempton - Indemnity

Indemnity is my last ride of the day, and this is another young horse who hasn't really disappointed this year - he's always been there or thereabout. I finished second on him at Ascot, behind a nice horse of Joe Tizzard's, called Alexei. Hopefully he'll go for us as well.

It's a nice book of rides for us on the whole, but the one I'd be most looking forward to riding would be Mambonumberfive.
