Brighton have made a flying start to the season and increasingly look like strong contenders for a Champions League place. Albion are the Premier League's top scorers with 24 goals in nine games, but it was their defensive resilience that shone through in a superb 1-0 win away to Manchester City last weekend.
Brentford are going from strength to strength under Keith Andrews, losing just once in the Premier League, and that was after being reduced to nine players against Liverpool. They are unbeaten away from home, but they are also without a win, having drawn all four of their away league games.
However, we find it hard to look past a Brighton team that have already dismantled Arsenal, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace at home this season. Their win at City underlined their serious credentials, and Brentford haven't won at the Amex since they were promoted in 2021. We're predicting a narrow win for The Seagulls.
Brighton are averaging over three goals a game at home, while Brentford have scored in every single competitive game this season. With plenty of attacking talent on display for each side, we're backing both teams to score.
Brighton look to have uncovered another gem in 19-year-old Greek striker Charalampos Kostoulas, who already has three goals and four assists in the league this season. Kostoulas has already beaten his goal total from last season, and played a starring role in each of Brighton's last two home games, with a goal and an assist in each game. Kostoulas is averaging 1.11 shots on target per game, and we're tipping him to test the keeper at least once against Brentford.
It was always going to be hard for Igor Thiago to match his goalscoring exploits from last season, with only Erling Haaland topping his tally of 22 Premier League goals. After a slow start to this campaign, the Brazil international now has a goal involvement in each of his last five games, finding the back of the net in the win over Nottingham Forest last week. We're tipping Thiago to have at least one shot on target against Brighton.
