Chelsea have happy memories from this fixture, winning their first Champions League trophy at this stadium against this opponent in 2012, and will look to set an early tone for their campaign with a statement win on the road. The England skipper will be out to prove a point against his former rivals. Kane has six goals against Chelsea in his career so far, and has scored against both Arsenal and Man Utd in the Champions League since making the move to Germany.

Chelsea's defence looked slightly shaky in their 2-2 draw with Brentford, while Kane scored a brace at the weekend in Bayern's 5-0 win over Hamburg. The England striker looks a good bet to find the net again here.

Cole Palmer is potentially in line to start after returning from injury. We think there's a good chance that both teams score in this one.

Chelsea have nothing to fear after overcoming some European heavyweights on their way to the Club World Cup trophy, but Bayern have won their last twenty Champions League openers. Indeed, The Bundesliga champions have not lost a group stage or league phase game at home since 2013.

That underlines the task facing The Blues, who will have a huge boost if Palmer is fit to start. With Bayern missing their own creative star Jamal Musiala - formerly of Chelsea - to a long-term injury, we reckon the two sides cancel each other out on this occasion.
