Dan Skelton expects Sholojack to run well in Kelso opener

Ladbrokes ambassador Dan Skelton spoke to us about the prospects of his eight runners at Kelso and Doncaster on Saturday.
Harry [Skelton] is at Kelso for us and Sholojack was very impressive the last day. We have been waiting for some sensible rain and it looks like they’ve had a splash of rain up here. He is progressive and I hope we can keep on an upward curve with him. He is our best chance of the day.
This is a very competitive race with 20 runners. Picking your way through these runners is going to be difficult. He is a progressive horse and ran very nicely over Christmas. He is a fresh horse as well. The ground will suit and he has a squeak.
He hasn’t got a leading figure and will be middle of the betting here. I would like to see him run really well, without thinking he will win. He is a three-mile chaser for the future and his season is looking well moulded at the moment. If we can finish on a high here, he is a maiden for next year.
He has won his last two and the owner’s son Ben Sutton rides him. This is a step up for the horse but I think he is ready for it and it’s a valuable pot. The trip suits and the track holds no fears. He is a lovely horse and is definitely going the right way.

Le Milos is heading for the Grand National. This is a tight looking race but I do think he will improve for this run. I have done plenty with him but there is more left in the tank to work with. I am really looking forward to running him and hopefully he comes through this well and tightens up for the Grand National.
Calico pushed Jonbon close last time. This is a flat track with good ground which suits him and he is a player. I assume he will start a short price because of the Jonbon situation, and he deserves to be a favourite. However, I don’t think he is 10lbs well in because he pushed Jonbon close. We have to be sensible about this, but I do expect him to go close.
She has been very consistent in good mares’ races this year. The step up in trip is a positive, she is top rated here, and I hope she gets her day.
He will love three miles here and the track will suit him. He is better left-handed and he would have a big chance.
