Race day rewards

Musselburgh

Made U Blush – 1.10 Musselburgh

Made U Blush runs in a juvenile hurdle and gets the 7lbs mares allowance. I thought she was impressive the last day at Doncaster albeit it was a fillies only event. I feel like she is doing well at home at the moment and she should run really well here. I don’t think the track will be a problem as she is a pacey horse. It is a much deeper race but she gets the allowance and we will give it our best shot.

Kateira – 1.43 Musselburgh

Kateira runs in the Scottish County Hurdle, and it is very competitive as you would expect. She carries top weight which isn’t going to make life easy for her, but she won over two miles at the start of the season when she beat Golden Ace. We are hopeful that she runs well. The track should be no issue and the ground is fine too.

Wetherby

Just Golden – 1.33 Wetherby

Just Golden starts us off in a maiden hurdle. He leads on figures and put up a good run last time out at Cheltenham. You would have to be disappointed if he is beaten based on figures. There are some opposition in there that will make it a race for sure and we have to be respectful of that. But like I say, the last couple of runs look sufficient to win this race.

Prince Zaltar – 2.08 Wetherby

Prince Zaltar ran ok the last day but doesn’t hide anything from the handicapper. I don’t think the trip is problem on this type of track so he has an each-way chance.

Jasmine De Cotte – 2.08 Wetherby

Jasmine De Cotte is new to us and ran ok the last day and is probably better over fences. We will see how we get on but it wasn’t exactly an overwhelming performance the other day so I would say the handicapper has got him high enough.

Price boost

Jeffery’s Cross – 3.15 Wetherby

Jeffery’s Cross runs in a hunters’ chase and he has been around a good while and can win these types. Whether the ground is too soft here, we will have to have a look. Hopefully he can be more competitive here than he is in handicaps.

Presley – 3.50 Wetherby

Presley has done lots of work at home and had a nice debut at Chepstow. The form of that race has been franked and I think this type of track will really suit him. We have some decent opposition against us but no doubt he will be one of the shorter priced horses in this field. We know the form of Fergal O’Brien’s horse, Midnight Jukebox, quite well because he just beat one of ours, Soldiers Reeves, who has gone on to be a 130 rated hurdler. I would say that was a good Irish point-to-point they ran in and he’s probably a good rival however I do think we’ll go close here.
