Hull City
Ladbrokes shares its predictions for Hull vs Manchester United in the Premier League, with the game taking place on Saturday, August 22, 2026
Our official score prediction is Hull 1-2 Man United, with the visitors backed to edge it through their stronger attacking options
Bryan Mbeumo arrives in sharp pre-season form and we're tipping him to score

Hull are back in the Premier League and the opening weekend has handed them a headline fixture at the MKM Stadium. Sergej Jakirovic’s side came up through the Championship play-offs, but Manchester United arrive with Champions League football to look forward to and Michael Carrick preparing for his first full season as permanent manager.
Ladbrokes brings you a Hull vs Man United betting preview, including our correct-score prediction, predicted lineups and a four-leg Bet Builder. Hull should be competitive at home, but United's attacking depth and pre-season goal output make the away side look the stronger pick.

Man Utd look the stronger side on paper and finished last season in the Champions League places. Hull will have the emotion of a Premier League return behind them, but they face a United side who beat Atletico Madrid and drew with PSG in pre-season. The away win is the opening leg.
United’s pre-season was lively, with their last five warm-up matches featuring scorelines of 5-0, 2-1, 1-1, 1-1 and 4-2. Hull’s final five also included a 3-0 win, a 2-1 win and a 2-0 defeat, so there is enough recent goal evidence on both sides. With Hull likely to go for it, over 2.5 goals looks appealing here.
Bryan Mbeumo to score is an angle that stands out. He scored three goals in four pre-season games, including a brace against Atletico Madrid and another goal against PSG, and Benjamin Sesko has only just returned to training after a shin injury. If Mbeumo starts centrally again, he looks a strong anytime scorer pick.
Matt Crooks picked up 13 yellow cards in the Championship last season, with 64 fouls committed across 2,509 minutes. Against a United midfield likely to include Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Bruno Fernandes, Crooks should have plenty of defensive work to get through. That makes him an interesting pick to be carded.
