Kobbie Mainoo next club odds: Napoli switch on the cards for Man Utd outcast

A move to Napoli is tipped in the latest Kobbie Mainoo next club odds, with the Manchester United outcast linked with a January departure.

Academy graduate Mainoo struggled to feature under sacked former manager Ruben Amorim and after being benched by caretaker boss Darren Fletcher against Burnley on Wednesday, a move away from Old Trafford in search of first-team minutes still feels likely.

Serie A champions Napoli are the clear favourites to land the midfielder's signature, with Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea seen as the likeliest Premier League destinations.

Napoli have proved to be the perfect club to reinvigorate the careers of former United strugglers Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund in recent years and the bookies think the Serie A leaders may return to the Red Devils for another of their stars, with their chances of signing Mainoo priced at 2/1.

Mainoo's career at Old Trafford has stagnated significantly since bursting onto the scene in 2023/24, going from scoring in the FA Cup final and breaking into the England team to not making a single start in the Premier League this season.

The 20-year-old is widely reported to be open to moving elsewhere in search of first-team minutes, with a loan appearing more likely than a permanent deal in January. However, the fact that no side is currently odds-on would suggest remaining at United past the January window is also a strong possibility.

After Napoli, Tottenham are the most likely destination at 8/1, with Newcastle next in line at 10/1, Chelsea and Everton at 12/1 and Aston Villa on 16/1.

LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are both given an outside chance at 16/1, which is the same price for a shock move to United's arch-rivals Manchester City as well as Brighton.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are among a collection of teams on 20/1, which also include Premier League duo West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are long shots at 25/1, with Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain priced way back at 33/1.
