Ladbrokes 1-2-Free: Liverpool & Man City win while Forest draw

Published: Updated at:

We're predicting wins for Liverpool and Man City, and a draw for Nottingham Forest, in the Premier League this weekend as part of Ladbrokes' 1-2-Free promotion.

The pick of the Premier League matches taking place this weekend sees title contenders Manchester City travel to London to face a Tottenham Hotspur side that they have, throughout the years, tended to struggle against.

The match takes place at 16:30 GMT on Sunday, a few hours after Crystal Palace travel to Nottingham Forest, and the day after Liverpool host Newcastle at Anfield in a Saturday evening kickoff.

Wins for Man City and Liverpool and a draw for Nottingham Forest

Right, now the rules are out of the way, Ladbrokes runs you through the three matches you have to predict for this week's 1-2-Free, giving our scoreline predictions for each.

First up is Saturday's 20:00 kickoff, with Liverpool hosting Newcastle at Anfield. The match is important for both sides, with neither looking overly convincing of securing Champions League football for next season.

The match between the two teams in August was one of the best of the season, ending in a 3-2 win for Liverpool. It also took place a week before the Reds took Newcastle's best player, signing Alexander Isak for a British record fee.

While Liverpool haven't hit the heights they reached at the beginning of the season, where they won their opening five games, we expect them to have enough to beat a Newcastle side who, like the Reds, are dealing with a pretty nasty injury crisis at the moment.

Our prediction for the game is for Liverpool to narrowly win, with Newcastle putting the ball past Alisson and scoring once.

Next up we have Nottingham Forest, fresh off their final Europa League group stage game, facing a Crystal Palace side who they helped demote to the Conference League over the summer.

The issues between the two sides were pretty evident last year and go way beyond both the players and managers. That tension should make the game extra feisty, so don't be surrpised to see a few yellows handed out here.

However, with neither side in the best form, we're tipping Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace to hold each other to a 1-1 draw at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.

For what it's worth, pay attention to who starts up front for Palace at the weekend, Jorgen Strand Larsen's imminent arrival at Selhurst Park potentially paving the way for Jean-Philippe Mateta to join Forest before the window shuts.

The final match in the 1-2-Free promotion this week is Tottenham vs Man City, a match that Pep Guardiola has tended to struggle in, regardless of who is in the Spurs dugout.

That continued this season too, with Thomas Frank beating Man City in one of his first matches as Tottenham boss. However, things have gone pretty downhill since then for the ex-Brentford manager.

Spurs are in the bottom half of the table, and fans remain rather unhappy with the club's performances, both on the pitch and behind the scenes in the boardroom.

Frank will see this game as the ideal chance to get his side's Premier League campaign back on track, but we're tipping Man City to win 2-1, putting pressure on Arsenal in the process.

Below are the three scorelines we're predicting for Liverpool vs Newcastle, Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace and Tottenham vs Man City as part of Ladbrokes' 1-2-Free this week.

  • Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle

  • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace

  • Tottenham 1-2 Man City

For what it's worth, Ladbrokes has a Premier League gameweek 24 preview live on the site now, with scoreline predictions for each of the 10 games in England's top-flight this weekend.
