Spain were held to a goalless draw by Cape Verde in one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history, but we're predicting them to get back to winning ways against Saudi Arabia. Luis de la Fuente's side have kept clean sheets in eight of their last ten games and were rarely troubled by Cape Verde. With Spain heavy 1/9 outright favourites to beat Saudi Arabia, the value pick is for Spain to win to nil at 4/9.
Belgium were unconvincing in their opening game against Egypt in Group G as they drew 1-1, and with Iran playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw with New Zealand in the group's other game, it's wide open with all four sides on one point. The Red Devils need a win if they want to top the group, and we reckon their stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku will rise to the occasion against Iran.
In their first-ever World Cup match, Cape Verde shocked the world by holding European champions Spain to a draw. Goalkeeper Vozinha is a new-born star and fairytale World Cup story after his heroics in keeping a clean sheet, and who's to say they can't keep another one? Uruguay laboured for long periods of their game against Saudi Arabia and were bailed out by an 80th-minute Maximiliano Araujo equaliser, but all is not well in their camp amid reports of tension between the players and Marcelo Bielsa. We're predicting Cape Verde to defy the odds again and draw with Uruguay.
Egypt put in an encouraging performance against Belgium and a win here would all-but secure passage to the round of 32. Mo Salah and Omar Marmoush provide a serious threat up front for The Pharaohs, and New Zealand played well but did concede twice against an Iran side lacking the quality Egypt have at their disposal. Salah scored Egypt's only goal the last time they made the World Cup in 2018, and we're backing him to come to the party in 2026 by getting off the mark against the All Whites.
