Manchester United vs Chelsea betting tips predictions
  • Man United and Chelsea to draw at Old Trafford

  • Joao Pedro to continue his fine form for Chelsea

  • Luke Shaw to pick up his first yellow card of the season

Ahead of Saturday evening's Premier League clash between Man United and Chelsea, Ladbrokes shares its expert betting tips, with Joao Pedro backed to score.

Chelsea remain unbeaten this season, with two wins and two draws from their four Premier League games so far, but they'll be disappointed with how they were pegged back by Brentford in the dying moments last time out.

United, on the other hand, have made their worst start to a Premier League campaign since 1992/93, claiming just four points and sitting in 14th heading into this blockbuster at Old Trafford. It promises to be a cracker - so check out our top betting tips below.

Man United vs Chelsea betting tips: Premier League predictions & odds

Joao Pedro to score anytime

Joao Pedro has made a bright start to life at Chelsea following his summer move from Brighton, with two goals and three assists already in the Premier League - and we're backing him to add to his tally this weekend.

The Brazilian has quickly become one of the first names on the team sheet for Enzo Maresca, starting all four league games, and has a strong record against Man United - with goals against the Red Devils for both Watford and Brighton.

United's unpredictable defence will struggle to contain the Brazilian, whose form has seen him register five goal contributions in his last three games. With that in mind, we're tipping Pedro to find the net against United for the third consecutive season, preventing Ruben Amorim's side from claiming their first clean sheet of the campaign.

Luke Shaw to be carded

Luke Shaw's Man United career is seemingly getting back on track at the start of this Premier League season, starting all four games and going the distance in the last two - but we expect him to struggle against a fluid Chelsea attack.

With the likes of Pedro, Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto inter-changing across the Chelsea frontline, Shaw may well find himself being dragged out into spaces he doesn't really want to occupy as a third centre back, being exposed in key areas and being forced into making challenges.

As someone who has suffered so severely with injuries in recent years, Shaw's lack of sharpness will likely cause him problems, rendering him unable to keep up with the Chelsea forwards and forcing him to commit into challenges - which will see him pick up a yellow card at some point over the 90 minutes.

Under 2.5 goals

The last couple of meetings between these two sides haven't seen many goals, with both games last season seeing under 2.5 goals - and we're backing that trend to continue here.

Man United's forwards aren't impressing too many people - despite the huge amount spent over the summer - and Ruben Amorim's side has already failed to score in two league games this season, so they're no strangers to struggling in front of goal.

Chelsea's attack is more potent, but after midweek exploits in Munich, we wouldn't be surprised to see some fatigue starting to creep in at Old Trafford. We could also see a debut for Senne Lammens in the United goal, and the 23-year-old will hope to put in the performance of his life on his Premier League debut - so we aren't expecting a goal-fest this weekend.

Man United and Chelsea to draw

With all this in mind, Ladbrokes is predicting an even contest between Manchester United and Chelsea, with the match ending in a draw - just as six of the last 10 encounters between these two sides have ended.

Despite Chelsea being the more dangerous team these days, they have consistently been unable to capitalise on their quality at Old Trafford, last winning a Premier League game at the Theatre of Dreams in 2013. In fact, Chelsea have only won two of the last 15 league meetings between these two sides.

It's difficult to see Chelsea losing this weekend, with the genuine gulf between the teams these days, but history tells us that Old Trafford is far from a happy hunting ground for the Blues. So Ladbrokes is backing an entertaining draw, with a couple of goals and plenty of intriguing moments, but ultimately no winner.
