Man City to win
Manchester City and Liverpool have spent most of the last decade battling for Premier League titles, but both are off the pace this season and so the FA Cup represents a great chance of silverware. Pep Guardiola added another trophy to his sizable collection when City beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final last month, and will be desperate to right the wrongs of last year's FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot's side are still in the Champions League, but it's been an underwhelming title defence from the Premier League champions and they find themselves in 6th. City did the league double over Liverpool this year for the first time since 1937, and we're backing them to make it three wins out of three against the Reds in 2025/26, with a 2-1 win enough to see them through to the semi-finals.
Both teams to score
To go with our 2-1 prediction, we're picking both teams to score in our Man City vs Liverpool bet builder. Liverpool have received a welcome boost with Alexander Isak returning to training, although he is likely to be eased back into first-team action. City have only failed to score at the Etihad twice this season in all competitions, while Liverpool have scored in six of their last seven away games. With the attacking talent on display, we think there's a good chance that both teams find the back of the net.
Antoine Semenyo 1+ shots on target
Antoine Semenyo has made a fine start to life in Manchester since his move from Bournemouth in January. The Ghanaian winger has already scored seven goals in all competitions for City, taking his tally for the season to seventeen. Semenyo has had at least one shot on target in four of his last five games, and is averaging over one shot on target per game this season. We're tipping him to test the keeper at least once on Saturday.
Dominik Szoboszlai to get booked
Amidst a season of flux, Dominik Szoboszlai has emerged as Liverpool's most consistent player, filling in at a range of positions from right-back to attacking midfield. The Hungarian is likely to start on the right wing here, with Mo Salah and Jeremie Frimpong both injured. Szoboszlai has had his best returns of his Anfield career, with twelve goals and eight assists in all competitions, and has established himself as arguably the best direct free-kick taker in England. He has also had a knack of conceding free-kicks, and has collected nine yellow cards this season. His tireless engine takes him all across the pitch, but occasionally he can be caught out, and we're predicting Szoboszlai will pick up his tenth booking of the season.
