Middlesbrough next manager odds: Gerrard the frontrunner to replace Edwards

The latest odds for Middlesbrough's next manager have Steven Gerrard as the favourite
Gary O'Neil and Adi Viveash are second and third favourites to replace Rob Edwards
Other names for the Boro job include Brendan Rodgers and Gareth Southgate
Steven Gerrard is the frontrunner in the Middlesbrough next manager odds, with the Liverpool legend tipped to replace Rob Edwards at the Championship club.
Gerrard has been out of work since leaving Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq in January and could now make his return to England as he heads the betting at 5/2.
Ex-midfielder Gary O'Neil, who was previously linked with Wolves before Edwards swapped Boro for Molineux, is second favourite at 3/1, with current assistant Adi Viveash next in line at 4/1.
Brendan Rodgers is another early contender, with former England manager Gareth Southgate a surprise name in the running.
Next Middlesbrough manager odds: Gerrard the favourite
Middlesbrough, currently second in the Championship, are 8/1 to win the league and just 13/8 to be promoted after a strong start to the season prior to Edwards' departure to relegation-threatened Wolves.
The Teesside club are now on a hunt for a boss who will continue his good work, with the latest odds suggesting Gerrard could be that man.
Gerrard flirted with a return to Rangers earlier this season and will feel he has unfinished business in English football following an unsuccessful year-long spell with Aston Villa.
A competitive field sees O'Neil just behind at 3/1. The ex-Wolves and Bournemouth boss is seemingly eyeing a return to management and he may fancy a return to the club he made 120 appearances for as a player.
Current interim Viveash is third favourite after guiding Boro to a 2-1 win over Birmingham City on Saturday, with Rodgers another contender after leaving Celtic at 6/1.
Southgate is a surprise contender at 6/1, with the former England manager out of work since losing in the Euro 2024 final. Other than the Three Lions, Middlesbrough is the only other managerial role he has had, having taken the reins between 2006 and 2009.
Below are the nine contenders in the market to be Middlesbrough's next manager, with other names including Tony Mowbray, Brian Barry-Murphy and Carlos Corberan.
