Newcastle to win

The Bees, who were tipped as a relegation candidate in preseason, have confounded expectations and sit an impressive 7th in Keith Andrews' first season in charge. However, Brentford have a poor record at St. James' Park, failing to win there since their promotion to the top flight in 2021. It hasn't been the usual fortress for the Magpies this season, but they've still only lost one of their last ten home league games, against Villa a fortnight ago. Igor Thiago has more than filled the void left by Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. The big forward is enjoying a superb campaign, notching 16 goals and only trailing Erling Haaland in the Golden Boot race. He's not scored in the last three games, but before that bagged a brace against Newcastle's rivals Sunderland, and a hat-trick away to Everton. He's averaging 1.38 shots on target per 90 minutes this season, and we're tipping him to test the keeper at least once here.
