Back to Corbyn, and the former Labour leader was added to the market following ex-Labour MP Zarah Sultana’s announcement that she and Corbyn would be founding a new party.
As noted, Reform UK leader Farage is the clear frontrunner to be the next Prime Minister at 5/2, with Labour’s Angela Rayner (6/1) and Wes Streeting (7/1) rounding out the top three in the betting.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Zarah Sultana’s announcement that she was quitting Labour to found a new party with Jeremy Corbyn took plenty by surprise – including Corbyn himself by the sounds of it. Still, they’re now both considered to be in the running to be the next Prime Minister, though they will have to defy some very long odds.”
Keir Starmer to be replaced in Prime Minister in 2025?
Keir Starmer could be replaced as Labour leader as early as THIS YEAR, according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.
The bookies currently make Starmer just 9/2 to be replaced before the end of 2025, with Streeting currently leading the race to replace him if that does happen.
Elsewhere, Andy Burnham and Rachel Reeves remain locked in the next Labour leader market, ahead of Angela Rayner who makes up the rest of the top five.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "The odds suggest a surprise 2025 exit for Keir Starmercan't yet be ruled out - and it's still Wes Streeting who's top of the list when it comes to Labour's next leadership race."
Ladbrokes also has odds on who will become the next US President after Donald Trump's term ends in 2028, with JD Vance the current favourite with the bookies on that front, and on the next London Mayoral Election, with Sadiq Khan expected to win for the fourth time.
