One player each Premier League club should sign

Premier League 2025

***UPDATE*** The summer transfer window officially closed at 19:00 BST on Monday 1 September, 2025. Deadline day saw a number of players switch clubs, including Alexander Isak, Harvey Elliott and Yoane Wissa.

With the 2025/26 season upon us and the summer transfer window nearing its close, Ladbrokes picks out one player that each Premier League club should sign.

From solid goalkeepers to world-renowned centre forwards, there's always somebody out there for every team, with some sides splashing the cash and others taking a more reserved approach to the transfer window.

Below, Ladbrokes highlights one player that every current Premier League club should sign this summer, with the likes of Alexander Isak, Emi Martinez and Nuno Mendes all featuring.

New Ladbrokes Offer

One player each Premier League club should sign

Arsenal - Eberechi Eze

Now that Arsenal's need for a striker has been quenched by the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres - who we're backing to be the Gunners' top scorer this season - Mikel Arteta could turn his attention to securing the signature of Eberechi Eze.

The north London club could still do with someone to share the creative load with Martin Odegaard through the middle of the park, and Eze has proven himself at Palace as one of the smoothest playmakers in the league. It helps that he can also play off the left, as seen for England, which covers another problem position for the Gunners.

As Arsenal look to push on and finally reclaim the Premier League trophy for the first time since going unbeaten in the 2003/04 season, Eze could be the difference in those games where teams play a low block, with his vision and technical ability providing the keys to unlock stubborn opposition.

Aston Villa - Alejandro Garnacho

Aston Villa have built a formidable squad over the last year or so, with quality players across the pitch, but with Leon Bailey being tipped for a move away and Marcus Rashford not returning following his impactful loan spell, Villa could be in the market for a pacey, tricky attacking player - and Alejandro Garnacho could well be that man.

The Argentine has fallen out of favour at Manchester United, and with the winger sporting an Aston Villa shirt on holiday, rumours of Garnacho joining Unai Emery's side were rife. Direct and dangerous when in-form, Garnacho could thrive under Unai Emery, and Villa could do a lot worse than taking a punt on the exciting attacker.

Bournemouth - Axel Disasi

With Dean Huijsen already settling in Madrid and Illia Zabarnyi on his way to PSG, Bournemouth could well be in need of a central defender this summer, and Ladbrokes thinks Axel Disasi could be a decent option for their squad.

The Frenchman is out of favour at Chelsea, being sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of last season and subsequently being left out of their Club World Cup squad, so will surely be open to a move. And with Bournemouth proving to be an ever-improving, Europe-chasing outfit, the south coast could be appealing.

Andoni Iraola's side earned plenty of plaudits last season, and will be hoping to break into the top six this time around - and with Axel Disasi featuring in the Champions League quarter-finals for Villa last season, his experience could be a huge boost to get the Cherries over the line.

Brentford - Kieran Trippier

Despite playing regularly again recently due to an injury to Lewis Hall, Kieran Trippier has spent more time on the bench than he would've liked this year, and with right back a position that Brentford could look to strengthen, the 34-year-old would be an ideal signing.

At his age, Trippier's price wouldn't be excessive, while his experience and leadership would be invaluable in a relatively young back line. On top of that, Trippier's performances have remained at a good level within the Premier League, and his recent experiences of winning La Liga and the Carabao Cup would be a huge boost for the squad.

Effective at both ends of the pitch and a real leader, Trippier moving to west London could be a shrewd piece of business by Brentford as the club look to push into the top 10 and beyond.

Brighton and Hove Albion - Fikayo Tomori

Fikayo Tomori has been at Milan for five seasons now, and it may be time for the 27-year-old to leave Serie A and return to England as he enters his peak years.

After bursting onto the Premier League scene at Chelsea, Tomori quickly fell out of favour and opted for a move to Italy to revitalise his career, and while he has been an important part of Milan's side for the past few seasons, a move back to the PL may even boost his chances of a potential England recall ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Tomori actually played for Brighton back in the 2016/17 season, and with the Seagulls potentially needing a new centre back as Lewis Dunk gets phased out of the side, the Milan defender could be an excellent addition for Fabian Hürzeler's team. He may also be open to moving on from a struggling Milan side, who aren't even competing for leagues at the moment.

Chelsea - Emi Martinez

Despite all the spending they've done over the last few years - and have continued this summer - Chelsea still lack a top quality goalkeeper, with the likes of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen failing to nail down that number one spot - so turning to World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez could be the move for the Blues.

The experienced Argentinian has been a revelation at Aston Villa over the past few seasons, picking up a number of individual awards as well as tasting success on the international stage - and his commanding presence could be exactly what Chelsea need to get over the line and into the top four again next season.

Villa won't want to lose him, but rumours of his departure have been flying around since Martinez's tears at the end of their final home game last season, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him head to Chelsea in pursuit of silverware.

Crystal Palace - Taylor Harwood-Bellis

This summer may well be the one where Crystal Palace finally cash in on captain Marc Guehi - but even if they manage to keep him at the club, making a move for Taylor Harwood-Bellis would be a smart bit of business by the Eagles.

Palace will likely be looking for a centre back regardless this summer, with injuries meaning players such as Jefferson Lerma have had to fill in at the back, so going for the Southampton defender would improve the depth and give them another excellent option.

The 23-year-old has already made his England debut and has been highly rated for some time now, so with Southampton dropping down into the Championship for next season, Harwood-Bellis is likely to have a number of Premier League suitors. A progressive club on the up under Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace could be the perfect destination for the young centre back to grow - and stake a claim to be involved in the 2026 World Cup.

Loading...

Everton - Stephy Mavididi

Despite maintaining their record of having never been relegated from the Premier League, Everton endured another underwhelming season, particularly in front of goal.

The Toffees are one of the league's lowest-scoring sides, and they could do with a real injection of pace and trickery out wide - which is exactly what Leicester's Stephy Mavididi would bring. With the Foxes now in the Championship next season, Mavididi will likely be looking for a Premier League club to prise him away from the King Power, and he would provide great competition for the likes of Dwight McNeil.

The winger gave a decent account of himself in a struggling Leicester side, and with Everton's move to their new stadium bringing what fans will hope is the start of a new dawn, a pacey player like Mavididi could become a real crowd favourite.

Loading...

Fulham - Jack Clarke

Fulham had an excellent season under Marco Silva, and have built a very strong squad as they launched a push for the European places, but Ipswich Town's Jack Clarke would offer them something new.

Still only 24 years old, Clarke provided some real moments of quality for Ipswich and will be hopeful of a move to stay in the top flight, with Fulham potentially needing a long-term option across the front line.

Clarke is also capable of playing centrally, giving Marco Silva different options as he looks to take his Fulham side to the next level, and the exciting young player could be keen on a move to the capital to join a team seemingly on the rise.

Loading...

Ipswich Town - Finn Azaz

Ipswich are back in the Championship after one year in the top flight, and should be looking at Middlesbrough's Finn Azaz to bolster their attacking options.

Azaz has excelled in the Championship for Boro, getting over 20 goal involvements last season and cementing his place among the league's best attacking midfielders. Ipswich's squad looks well-placed to launch a promotion bid, and picking up Finn Azaz to provide extra creativity could be the difference between play-offs or the top two.

24 years old and hungry to impress, the Republic of Ireland international would be an excellent signing for the Tractor Boys.

Leicester City - Patrick Bamford

With Leicester's relegation to the Championship being confirmed early last season, their thinking will be tailored towards an immediate return to the Premier League, and Ladbrokes thinks Leeds United's Patrick Bamford would be an excellent addition to the squad.

The one-time England international has built an excellent reputation for himself over the last few years, proving his worth in the Premier League before also pulling his weight in the Championship - and with the Foxes looking to replace Jamie Vardy, a striker of Bamford's experience and quality could be an excellent signing.

Loading...

Liverpool - Alexander Isak

Last season's Premier League champions, Liverpool enjoyed Arne Slot's first campaign in the dugout - but it is has already been a busy summer for the Reds as they look to push on next season.

With Mohamed Salah signing a new contract to stay beyond the summer, Liverpool's chances of winning the league again next season already look healthy, but signing Alexander Isak alongside the additions of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez would be a huge boost.

Isak was one of the most in-form strikers in the world last season, scoring over 20 goals in all competitions and winning the Carabao Cup, but the Swede could well be on the move this summer. There aren't many more attractive clubs than Liverpool, and with Darwin Nunez now an Al Hilal player, Isak could be the man to fire Liverpool to success again next year.

Manchester City - Nuno Mendes

In a disappointing season for Man City, injuries hampered their ability to be at their best, with long term absences to key players proving costly.

One of those players has been Nathan Ake, and a new first-choice left back to compete with Rayan Ait-Nouri could be a great addition for Man City as they strive to rediscover their dominance - which leads us onto PSG's Nuno Mendes.

The 23-year-old's Champions League performances earned him a place in our UCL team of the season, and with PSG winning the competition, his quality is clear for all to see. Incredible pace, excellent technical ability and already making winning a habit, he fits the bill perfectly for Man City - but he won't be cheap.

Loading...

Manchester United - Rodrigo Muniz

Manchester United were toothless in front of goal last season, with their top scorer not even reaching double figures in the league, so a proven Premier League centre forward should definitely be on the wish list - even with Benjamin Sesko already in the door.

With that in mind, Ladbrokes thinks Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz could be a shrewd signing for the Red Devils, with the 24-year-old enjoying his best goalscoring season as Fulham pushed for Europe. Players will likely be keen to head to Old Trafford having seen some exciting summer business, and Muniz could be a great option for depth at the top of the pitch.

While Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to have a real impact, Muniz's physicality and eye for goal would make him an excellent focal point for Ruben Amorim's side when needed.

Newcastle United - Bobby Thomas

Bobby Thomas is a player that would benefit a number of Premier League teams this summer, enjoying another excellent season with Coventry last time out, but we think Newcastle could be the perfect destination for the young defender.

With Sven Botman struggling to maintain fitness across a season and Fabian Schar approaching his mid-30s, Newcastle could find themselves looking for a new centre back in this window, and Bobby Thomas is one of the Championship's hottest prospects right now.

Having worked his way up the divisions, Thomas has got better year on year, becoming a huge player for Coventry as they narrowly missed out on promotion last season. Frank Lampard won't be too keen on the idea of selling him, but with the possibility of snapping him up for a reasonable fee, this could be a very shrewd signing for Newcastle to consider.

Loading...

Nottingham Forest - Ronnie Edwards

With Ronnie Edwards struggling to get into the Southampton team after his summer move last year, the feeling is that the highly-rated youngster may be on the move this year.

The ball-playing defender would provide depth needed to rival Murillo and Milenkovic at the back, whilst also being able to step in for some of the Europa League games that the Nottingham Forest fans are going to be incredibly excited for.

He's also someone who, should Murillo eventually move on to a bigger club, could step in and become a starter within a year or two - and despite us predicting that Forest could be a surprise package for all the wrong reasons neat year, this would still be a great place for Edwards to develop.

Loading...

Southampton - Ben Mee

With the Saints generating one of the lowest Premier League points tallies of all time last term, they're in desperate need of reinforcements as they take on a season in the Championship.

Losing has become a real habit for Southampton, so shoring up the defence will be a good place to start for new manager Will Still - with free agent Ben Mee looking a really solid option.

Mee has played Premier League football for the past nine seasons, but his game time has grown increasingly limited over the last couple of years, so the defender could well be open to a move down to the Championship. His experience and quality would be a huge boost for Southampton as they set their sights on the league title after a torrid season in the PL.

Loading...

Tottenham Hotspur - Savinho

Tottenham have been linked with Manchester City's Savinho in recent weeks, and Ladbrokes thinks the Brazilian would be an excellent addition to Thomas Frank's squad, providing real quality from wide areas.

The 21-year-old only scored one Premier League goal last season, but provided eight assists and got fans off their seats with moments of magic, so he'd be a very welcome signing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He may not be keen to leave Man City so soon after joining the perennial title challengers, but if his minutes are going to be limited this season following new arrivals, a move to London could be an excellent way to become a key man for a Premier League and Champions League team, with Spurs' Europa League glory making this deal more realistic.

Loading...

West Ham United - Jadon Sancho

Currently an unwanted man at Manchester United, and with no way back to Chelsea looking to be on the cards, Jadon Sancho is in need of a good move to really reignite his career - and we think heading to the London Stadium could be an excellent proposition for him.

Having lost Mohammed Kudus to Spurs, West Ham will be looking for someone with flair to fill the Ghanaian's boots, with Sancho bringing the pace, trickery and X-factor that can excite fans and teammates alike.

They need to bring in somebody who can carry the side alongside Jarrod Bowen, and a confident Sancho can certainly do that - especially with the World Cup at the end of next season.

West Ham odds, Manuel Lanzini odds

Wolves - Fabio Vieira

Wolves have become a Premier League haven for Portuguese players, and with Vitor Pereira's side desperately needing some new attacking options, Fabio Vieira could be the perfect pick.

On loan from Arsenal at Porto last season, Vieira is unlikely to be part of Mikel Arteta's plans in the 2025/26 campaign, so the midfielder will likely be open to a permanent move away from the Emirates.

Wolves had a largely forgettable campaign last time out, earning a low grade in Ladbrokes' 2024/25 season ratings, and an injection of creative flair in the form of Fabio Vieira is likely to give their fans hope of an improved effort next time around - especially with star man Matheus Cunha having already left for Man United.
