Premier League Gameweek 26 preview: Predictions & odds

Published:

Gameweek 26 features a number of high-profile Premier League matches, including Spurs vs Newcastle, and Ladbrokes previews them all.

The latest batch of midweek action kicks off on Tuesday night with an in-form Chelsea hosting Daniel Farke's Leeds at 19:30 GMT, while Everton play Bournemouth at the same time.

Newcastle travel to Spurs for a huge game in North London, with kick-off from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium also taking place at 19:30, before West Ham face Manchester United at 20:15.

Wednesday night sees a host of games kick off at 19:30 GMT, with Man City facing Fulham in the pick of the bunch. Later that night, Liverpool travel to Wearside to play a Sunderland team who are yet to lose at home this season.

The midweek round of fixtures comes to a close on Thursday night, when Arsenal make the short trip across London to take on Keith Andrews' high-flying Brentford at 20:00 GMT.

Premier League Gameweek 26 preview: Predictions & odds

Premier League Gameweek 26 Preview

Chelsea vs Leeds United

Just two defeats in 12 has seen Leeds build up a nice little cushion between themselves and the bottom three, but facing a Chelsea side looking for a fifth straight league win will likely be a step too far. We're tipping the hosts to take all three points from an entertaining affair at Stamford Bridge.

Everton vs Bournemouth

Two teams on five-game unbeaten runs in the Premier League go head-to-head at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and with just three points separating the sides at kick-off, we can't split them here. Ladbrokes is predicting a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, with both Everton and Bournemouth arriving in confident mood.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United

Both Tottenham and Newcastle suffered disappointing defeats at the weekend, with neither side anywhere near their targets of European football at the moment. Both teams are wildly out of form, and as a dreadful home record hosts a less-than-impressive away record, we're predicting a score draw.

West Ham United vs Manchester United

With Manchester United on the hunt for a fifth consecutive Premier League victory under Michael Carrick, relegation-threatened West Ham will need to be at their very best to get anything here. The Hammers are in decent form themselves, but we think the high-flying visitors will be too strong.

Aston Villa vs Brighton & Hove Albion

A recent wobble in form has seen Villa's lead over the likes of Man United and Chelsea all but vanish, and Unai Emery's side now have it all to do to maintain their Champions League push. Rare back-to-back home defeats have set them back, but as Brighton head to Villa Park with just one win in 12, we're tipping the hosts to pick up three vital points.

Crystal Palace vs Burnley

After beating rivals Brighton to pick up their first win in 13 across all competitions, a rejuvenated Crystal Palace will be keen to build on their performance and really climb away from the bottom three. Hosting a Burnley side without a Premier League win since October, Palace are firm favourites here, and we're expecting them to get the job done.

Manchester City vs Fulham

That dramatic comeback win at Anfield could easily kickstart one of Man City's formidable runs of form, and with Fulham last taking a point off City in 2011, history is certainly on the side of the hosts. We don't think it'll be easy, with Fulham backed to score, but we are predicting a home win at the Etihad.

Nottingham Forest vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Defeat at Leeds last week piled the pressure on relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest, but with Wolves yet to pick up an away win this season, we think the Reds should have too much for their visitors. Wolves are looking certainties for the drop, and in one of the most important matches of Gameweek 26, we think they'll lose again at the City Ground.

Sunderland vs Liverpool

Sunderland are yet to lose a home game this season, but we think a determined Liverpool side could end that record on Wednesday night, putting their crushing defeat to Man City behind them at the first attempt. The Reds need a win to reignite their top-four push, and against a Sunderland side who were comfortably beaten by Arsenal on Saturday, we think the champions will prevail.

Brentford vs Arsenal

Title favourites Arsenal wrap up the midweek Premier League action with a trip to high-flying Brentford, and we think they'll take all three points from the Gtech Community Stadium. Keith Andrews' Bees have enjoyed two spectacular away days in the last week, but Arsenal know a win is crucial to keep Man City at bay - and we can't see them slipping up here.
