For the first pick of our Senegal vs Iraq bet builder, we're tipping both teams to score in this crucial Group I match, with both sides knowing anything less than a win will spell the end of their 2026 World Cup journey.
Despite losing their opening two games, Senegal have found the net against both France and Norway so far, and are a better team than their zero points suggests.
Despite only scoring once across their two games, Iraq know it is now or never if they are going to stay at this World Cup and it feels likely they will find the net against a Senegal team that has shipped six goals so far.
Ismaila Sarr has been Senegal's shining light so far, scoring twice in the entertaining 3-2 defeat to Norway and producing 1.5 shots on target per game so far.
If the Lions of Teranga are going to get the win they'll need to have any chance of qualification, it is likely to come from the Crystal Palace forward, who has run more distance (21km) than any of his team-mates so far. As a result, backing at least two shots on target feels more than reasonable.
Sarr will line up on the right side of Senegal's attack, and that means Iraq left-back Merchas Doski could be in for a busy evening.
With Iraq the underdogs, tactical fouls are likely to be key to thwarting the AFCON finalists' rhythm and Doski has already committed a foul in each of his two games so far without receiving a booking. It looks like the Viktoria Plzen defender's luck will run out here as he picks up a card in Toronto.
Finally, we're tipping Senegal to get the all-important victory to put themselves in contention for a place in the round-of-32 as a third-place finisher.
A one-goal victory - as our 2-1 prediction backs - could even be enough for the African side, with that taking them above Scotland in the rankings following their 3-0 defeat to Brazil. A two-goal win would almost certainly see them progress, but it is still up in the air with several groups still yet to conclude.
But the win is all that matters for our bet builder, and we think Senegal will manage that at least against an Iraq team that has struggled in perhaps the most difficult group at this tournament.
