Ladbrokes previews Spain vs Austria in the World Cup Round of 32
Spain to win in 90 minutes and score over 2.5 goals
Mikel Oyarzabal is backed to score with Xaver Schlager picking up a card

Spain continue their bid to become World Cup champions for the second time when they face fellow European side Austria in the Round of 32.
La Roja recovered from a shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in their first game to beat Saudi Arabia and Uruguay and top their group but they are perhaps yet to show their absolute best in North America, which has seen them slip from pre-tournament favourites to joint third in the current outright market alongside England.
Ralf Rangnick's Austria were runners-up in Group J having beaten Jordan and drawn with Algeria either side of a 2-0 defeat to holders Argentina, and they will go into this knockout clash as the underdogs versus the Euro 2024 champions.
Check out our in-depth preview and bet builder tips for Spain vs Austria, including lineups, predictions and the latest odds. Spain are odds-on to qualify for the Round of 16 at 1/9, with a shock Austria victory priced at 19/4.

Our predicted XI (4-3-3): Simon / Llorente, Cubarsi, Laporte, Cucurella / Merino, Rodri, Pedri / Yamal, Oyarzabal, Baena

Named as a pre-tournament Golden Boot contender, Mikel Oyarzabal has scored a respectable two goals in three games for Spain so far, and he will be desperate to increase that tally in the knockout stages.
The Real Sociedad striker is averaging 1.3 shots on target per game and feels like the obvious goalscorer choice for La Roja, who should score multiple times in this game.
Austria are a good team in their own right but know they face a mammoth task to get the better of a Spain side who are considered a key contender to go all the way.
Rangnick's side is built on a dynamic and physical midfield unit that will look to disrupt Spain's rhythm at every opportunity. Xaver Schlager is yet to receive a booking at the World Cup so far but has committed two fouls per game on average so far, suggesting he is probably due to be cautioned. We think his luck will run out here, with Schlager to be shown a card.
Spain have hardly sparkled at the World Cup so far but we think they will turn it on now we have reached the business end of the competition.
Unlike Cape Verde or Uruguay, Austria are not a side who will sit back and that should allow Luis De La Fuente's men to exploit the gaps which will open up as a result. We're going slightly bold and backing over 2.5 goals for the Spanish.
To finish off our Spain vs Austria bet builder, we're going for a win for La Roja inside 90 minutes to seal passage through to the Round of 16.
While Spain haven't been at their best, we still believe they are one of the World Cup's most dangerous contenders and they will look to click into gear in this knockout tie. Austria are no easy opponent, but we think Spain's quality should see them through here without the need for extra-time.
