Match to end in a draw

Both teams ended long trophy droughts last season and are competing in Europe's top tier this term, but with two-thirds of the Premier League season now done, have seriously underachieved domestically and find themselves languishing in mid-table. Spurs finished 17th last season under Ange Postecoglou and would certainly have hoped for a much greater improvement from Thomas Frank, who has them 15th. Tottenham's home form has been dreadful, winning just two of their twelve league games, and the crowd could quickly turn if they go behind again.

Well, this one is a battle of a stoppable force against a movable object, as Newcastle's form away from home is equally as poor, with just two wins from their twelve away games this season. Eddie Howe is under pressure for the first real time in his Newcastle reign, after they were booed off in a 3-2 defeat at home to Brentford on Saturday, which made it three league defeats on the bounce to leave them 12th. The Magpies are unbeaten in their last five against Spurs, and with each team struggling for consistency, we can see them sharing the spoils on Tuesday night.

Both teams to score

Thomas Frank's Tottenham side haven't been the easiest on the eye to watch, which is a large part of why the fanbase hasn't warmed to him, but they have been much better at finding the back of the net of late. Spurs have scored in their last ten home games in all competitions, and picked up a hard-fought point after clawing back a two-goal deficit against Manchester City.

Newcastle rarely fail to entertain, even if they're looking increasingly vulnerable recently, and both teams have scored in each of their last three away games. We're predicting an entertaining 2-2 draw, with both teams to score going in our bet builder.

Bruno Guimaraes 1+ shots on target

Newcastle's captain and talisman Bruno Guimaraes has carried his team at times this season, but even his return from injury wasn't enough to prevent Brentford from consigning his side to a damaging defeat at the weekend.

The Brazil international is having a fine individual campaign, with nine goals and four assists from central midfield, matching his best return in a league season. He had a goal and an assist at the weekend, and now has at least one shot on target in his last six starts, a streak we're backing him to continue in North London.

Joao Palhinha to get booked

Joao Palhinha had a strong start to his Tottenham career after joining from Bayern Munich last summer, scoring and playing a starring role as Spurs pulled off a statement 2-0 away at Manchester City in August.

Much like his side's season, Palhinha's form has trailed off, though he hasn't been helped by having to fill in as an emergency centre-back and right-back in recent weeks due to a raft of defensive injuries. That makes captain Cristian Romero's red card in their defeat at Old Trafford even less timely, with the Argentinian set to miss the next four games.

Palhinha has six yellow cards this season - only topped at Spurs by guess who, Romero - and may have to fill in an unfamiliar role again. Against Newcastle's speed on the counter, we could see Palhinha adding to his card tally.
