Tottenham vs Chelsea: Premier League betting tips, odds & predictions
Spurs to score over 1.5 goals
As we've already predicted in our piece outlining Premier League bets we'd make ahead of GW10, Ladbrokes is expecting Spurs to have a fair bit of joy in front of the Chelsea goal on Saturday, with Thomas Frank's side tipped to score over 1.5 goals against the Blues.
Chelsea's defence hasn't covered itself in glory this season, with Sunderland's winner last week highlighting real weaknesses, and we think a confident Spurs team could take full advantage. The league's joint-highest scorers, Tottenham have scored over 1.5 goals on six occasions already this season, and with a rotated Chelsea side shipping three to Wolves in midweek, the Blues aren't showing many signs of tightening up defensively.
Pedro Neto to get an assist
Pedro Neto has made a decent start to the Premier League season, with two goals and two assists to his name - and we're backing him to grab a third assist in as many games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Neto has plenty of competition these days, but the Portuguese winger has emerged as a consistent starter for Enzo Maresca, and he'll fancy his chances against Djed Spence down Chelsea's right-hand side. The 25-year-old is always good for creating a chance or two, and with Spurs only keeping one clean sheet in their last nine games against Chelsea, we expect their defence to be breached - with Neto forcing the issue.
Joao Palhinha to be shown a card
Dipping into the cards market now, and we think Tottenham's Joao Palhinha could be the smart pick ahead of what could be a fiery contest between Spurs and Chelsea in north London.
The combative midfielder is no stranger to the referee's book, picking up two yellow cards already this season, and his average of more than five tackles per game proves he's always in the thick of the action. This fixture has earned a reputation for seeing plenty of cards in recent years, with 10 yellows being shown the last time the two sides met, so drama is never too far away. We're predicting that Joao Palhinha will be on the receiving end of a card this weekend, with the midfield battle taking centre stage.
Tottenham to win
To close our Spurs vs Chelsea betting tips & predictions, we're tipping the hosts to finally get one over their London rivals, with Tottenham beating Chelsea for the first time since February 2023.
Thomas Frank's side have lost just one of their last six Premier League outings, and despite their home form remaining a real concern, we think they'll come out on top this weekend. Chelsea need to bounce back after that shock defeat to Sunderland last weekend, and have scored in each of their last 13 games in all competitions, so this certainly won't be easy for Spurs. But with the crowd behind them and Chelsea's defence proving beatable, Ladbrokes is tipping Tottenham to grab all three points.
