Colombia vs Portugal (Sunday, 28 June, 2026 - 00:30 BST)

Algeria vs Austria (Sunday, 28 June, 2026 - 03:00 BST)
Jordan vs Argentina (Sunday, 28 June, 2026 - 03:00 BST)
The first pick of our day 17 acca comes from Group L, where we're backing Ghana to avoid defeat against Croatia.
This is a huge game for Ghana who are aiming to secure their spot in the knockout rounds, and could even progress as group winners if other results go their way. Ghana are unbeaten at the World Cup so far, and they have still not conceded a single goal.
That defensive record looks even more impressive when you consider they held England to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday evening. The same England side who beat this Croatia team 4-2 in their opening match were kept out by Carlos Queiroz's side, with Ghana defending superbly and frustrating one of the tournament favourites.
Ghana are also on a run of six consecutive competitive matches without defeat, conceding just one goal during that period, so there is every reason to believe they can make life difficult for Croatia.
Croatia did keep themselves alive by beating Panama 1-0 last time out, but that was hardly a statement performance, and after conceding four against England in their opener, we're not expecting them to have things all their own way here.
So the first pick of our day 17 accumulator is Ghana to win or draw, with the Black Stars backed to continue their impressive campaign.
Turning our attention to the other Group L match now, and we're backing England to bounce back with a win over Panama.
The Three Lions were undoubtedly frustrated by their goalless draw with Ghana, but there is no need to overreact to one difficult night. Thomas Tuchel's side still sit in a strong position, and they should have far too much quality for a Panama team who are yet to score at this World Cup.
England have failed to win just one of their last 10 competitive matches, and that was Tuesday's draw against Ghana. Their last competitive defeat came against Greece in the Nations League in October 2024, and the only defeat they have suffered across their last 12 matches in all competitions was a friendly against Japan earlier this year, when several regular starters missed out.
Panama, on the other hand, have lost three of their last five matches, including a 6-2 defeat to Brazil, which showed the problems they can have when facing elite attacking opposition.
They have also lost both of their World Cup matches so far, going down 1-0 to Ghana and 1-0 to Croatia, and with no goals to their name in the tournament, we can't see them troubling one of the favourites.
So an England win is our second pick, with Tuchel's side backed to get the job done and move into the knockout rounds.
The third pick of our day 17 acca comes from Group K, where we're tipping Portugal to beat Colombia.
Portugal's opening draw with DR Congo, coupled with Colombia's back-to-back wins over Uzbekistan and DR Congo, means Roberto Martinez's side need to win this one if they are to progress as group winners.
That pressure should bring the best out of them. Admittedly, Uzbekistan are not the strongest opposition in Group K, but Portugal will come into this match full of confidence after beating them 5-0 last time out, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a much-needed brace.
There were questions asked after the DR Congo draw, where Portugal struggled to break down an excellent deep block, but this should be a very different type of game. Colombia have already qualified and need only a draw to finish top, but they are far more likely to attack than DR Congo were, and that could open up spaces for Portugal's attacking quality to exploit.
Portugal have lost just once in their last 15 matches, and while Colombia have looked strong in this group, they have also failed to beat the likes of Canada, Croatia and France across their last 10.
With the pressure on, and with Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha and Joao Neves all capable of producing decisive moments, we're backing Portugal to win the Group K decider.
Sticking with Group K, we're also backing DR Congo to either win or draw against Uzbekistan.
DR Congo were excellent in their opening match against Portugal, earning a 1-1 draw against one of the group favourites, and while they were beaten 1-0 by Colombia last time out, they still made the South American side work extremely hard for the points.
Uzbekistan, meanwhile, are on a run of four consecutive defeats, with their two World Cup games bringing a 3-1 loss to Colombia and a 5-0 defeat to Portugal. They have shown flashes of quality, but at this level they have looked vulnerable, particularly when opponents have been able to turn possession into sustained pressure.
DR Congo should also take belief from the way they reached this tournament. They finished just two points behind Senegal in African World Cup qualifying, winning 70% of their matches, and then came through a difficult playoff route to make their return to the World Cup.
With Premier League names such as Noah Sadiki, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Yoane Wissa in their ranks, they have enough quality and experience to make this a difficult night for Uzbekistan.
The bigger prize may require three points, but for the purposes of our acca, we're backing DR Congo to avoid defeat.
The fifth pick of our World Cup accumulator is for Argentina to beat Jordan and continue their perfect start to the tournament.
Argentina, alongside co-hosts Mexico, are one of the only teams to have won every World Cup match so far without conceding a single goal, and we can't see that run ending against a Jordan side who have not won an international fixture in 2026.
The defending champions have been all about Lionel Messi so far, with the former Barcelona magician scoring five goals in two games, including a hat-trick against Algeria and a brace against Austria.
That said, with Argentina already guaranteed to progress as Group J winners, we would not be surprised to see Lionel Scaloni rotate his side. Regardless of what happens in the other game between Austria and Algeria, Argentina's wins over both teams mean they are already secure at the top of the group.
Even with changes, though, there should still be far too much quality in this Argentina squad. Jordan have lost both of their matches so far, conceding three against Austria and two against Algeria, and facing the world champions is unlikely to make things any easier.
So we're backing Argentina to make it three wins from three at this World Cup, and a victory here would also make it 10 wins in a row for Scaloni's side.
The sixth and final pick of our day 17 accumulator is for Austria to win or draw against Algeria.
Austria's defeat to Argentina was a setback, but a loss to the defending world champions can happen to any side, and Ralf Rangnick's team still have their fate in their own hands.
A draw would be enough for Austria to finish above Algeria and secure second place in Group J, and that makes the double chance market very appealing. Algeria have to win, while Austria can be a little more measured and make sure they do not leave themselves too open.
Before that defeat to Argentina, Austria had won four matches in a row, including their 3-1 victory over Jordan in their World Cup opener. They have also lost only three of their last 19 matches, which shows just how difficult they have become to beat under Rangnick.
Algeria did come from behind to beat Jordan 2-1, but they needed an 82nd-minute Amine Gouiri goal to get over the line, and their defensive issues were clear in their opening defeat against Argentina.
We expect Algeria to push hard, because only a win will really do, but that could leave space for Austria to exploit. So Austria to win or draw is our final pick, bringing a close to our result-focused day 17 World Cup acca.
