After impressively dispatching previous tournament favourites France in Tuesday's semi-final, Spain will have all eyes on finishing the job and winning their second World Cup on Sunday.
La Roja have quietly gone about their business at this World Cup, edging through against both Portugal and Belgium in the previous two rounds, but they turned it on when it matters in a dominant display which saw them stifle Kylian Mbappe and Co for the first time this tournament.
A Mikel Oyarzabal penalty and a Pedro Porro finish either side of half-time proved the difference, but in truth there was only one team in it as the Euro 2024 champions extended their unbeaten run in competitive football to 37 matches.
And with one game to go to match their efforts of 2010, we think they'll get the job done in the final at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
Much like Spain's football team, Jon Rahm is well versed in winning major honours in golf as he looks to add to his previous US Open and Masters triumphs by winning The Open at Royal Birkdale.
The Spaniard is yet to take home the Claret Jug but has finished in the top 10 three times at this major, including tied second in 2023 and tied third in 2021. The 2025 Ryder Cup winner is fifth in the market to win the tournament outright this time around.
Rahm, who is still part of Saudi Arabia's LIV Golf, finished tied second at the PGA Championship in May and should come into the final major of the year in confident mood.
While we think winning The Open outright might be a step too far against defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Masters winner Rory McIlroy and a host of other hopefuls, he looks good value to record a top-five finish for the third time at this tournament.
