Al Azd (second choice) has to deal with an 8lb rise after a cracking second at Royal Ascot but he continues to progress and may handle it, while Merveilleux Lapin ran well when second off this mark in a handicap in May and should also go well. However, THEORY OF TIDES looked like a return to this trip would do the trick last time and he gets the vote. Study Of Words is becoming a bit of an enigma but don't rule out a big run from old boy Fantasy Believer.[Richard Russell]
