While CONMAN JOHN does not have a monopoly on potential in this field, he made much the strongest impression with the way he galloped on powerfully to register a 3m win here in October last time. Reckless Spending is the only one who's not won either a point or a race under rules but he showed pretty useful form at Ascot when looking very much a work in progress over just 2m3f on his hurdling debut, so he is feared most, ahead of Carlenrig and Kasino Des Mottes.[Richard Austen]
