Verdict
Dan Skelton won a string of valuable handicap hurdles last season and his LE BEAU MADRIK might be the answer to this one. The unexposed 5yo was far too good for a useful subsequent winner at Haydock in April and has plenty of scope for further progress this term. Pioneer Pete has added two novice wins to his tally since his commendable handicap second at Punchestown in May and is second choice, while strong cases can also be made for old rivals Serious Challenge and Captain Hugo. Others to consider are Doctor Blue, Gibbs Island and Hamlet's Night.[Chris Wilson]
