Verdict
There is probably more to come from Local Derby, who still appeared to be learning on the job when winning at Wincanton in January and does not look harshly treated by a 4lb rise for that. However, SPECIAL JOHN has done very well over fences for his new stable this season and is taken to exploit a lower hurdle mark. Square Du Roule is also likely to feature, while handicap debutante Jurassic Pet has potential.[Chris Wilson]
