Verdict
Second choice Brian has to be feared despite topweight as this mark is very manageable on his slow-ground form, and he's clearly been waiting for a change in the weather. Others to consider are Korker, Rhoscolyn, Brighton Boy and last year's winner Ata Rangi, together with the 3yo KING OF THUNDER who needs a second look when he bypassed Ascot yesterday to wait for this easier ground. A C&D scorer last autumn, he wasn't beaten too far on his comeback at Chester in May when hot on the heels of the subsequent Britannia winner.[Alistair Jones]
