Verdict
Although he didn't do much in two points, ROYAL GLADIATOR ran a good race on rules' debut when runner-up behind smart prospect Oh My Word. He followed that with a solid fourth over hurdles last time and gets the vote to take this. San Hilario looks like the main danger. He has been knocking on the door in handicap hurdles around this trip, although a beaten favourite in his last three runs. J J Slevin chooses Jack The Lad from three options, so he's respected.
